Vector-Borne Disease Control Supplies and Training Delivered in Fiji

GX's team distributed vector-borne disease control supplies and conducted training for relevant personnel in Suva and Nadi, Fiji, in early December, to ensure the effective use of these materials.

 

As a key initiative during the pilot phase of the "Dengue Fever and Other Vector-Borne Disease Control Project", the distributed supplies included 450 mosquito lamps, 2,000 rapid dengue test kits, 500 bed nets, and 20,000 sticky fly traps. These were primarily allocated to high-traffic locations such as airports, hospitals, markets, and schools.

 

Nadi Airport expressed support for the initiative, noting that they had previously received numerous complaints regarding mosquito and fly issues. The timely provision of these supplies will help improve the airport environment and public health. Additionally, GX will complete the locally produced educational materials for disease prevention and control in January next year, followed by further awareness and education activities.
