La Fundación GX es una organización benéfica no gubernamental fundada en Hong Kong, China, en 2018. Nuestro objetivo es brindar asistencia humanitaria médica y de salud pública a los países de la Franja y la Ruta, encarnando el espíritu de compartir y la conectividad entre personas. Guiada por una visión de prosperidad compartida, GX trabaja en estrecha colaboración con gobiernos, profesionales médicos y comunidades locales para implementar programas transformadores en zonas de necesidad crítica.

GX Foundation

La misión central de GX es eliminar el sufrimiento prevenible mediante intervenciones médicas específicas, incluyendo su iniciativa insignia para restaurar la visión de pacientes con cataratas en regiones desatendidas. Más allá de la atención quirúrgica, GX combate las enfermedades transmitidas por vectores mediante programas de prevención y educación, garantizando que las comunidades estén preparadas para romper el ciclo de transmisión. Reconociendo que la salud está inextricablemente ligada al medio ambiente y la resiliencia, GX también implementa iniciativas de agua potable, estrategias de preparación ante desastres y apoyo a la recuperación a largo plazo en zonas vulnerables.

Un elemento central del enfoque de GX es la convicción de que un cambio duradero requiere inversión en las personas. A través de programas de desarrollo juvenil y alianzas transfronterizas, GX cultiva la próxima generación de líderes humanitarios, a la vez que fortalece la capacidad local.

Prof. CHAN Ying-yang, Emily joined GX Foundation in 2019. She is a clinician and an expert in public health and humanitarian medicine, with years of experience in global humanitarian health intervention research and frontline work. Prof. CHAN holds multiple concurrent positions, including Professor and Assistant Dean (External Affairs) at the Faculty of Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK); Director of the Collaborating Centre for Oxford University and CUHK for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response (CCOUC); Director of the Centre for Global Health at CUHK; and Director of the International Excellence Centre for Health and Community Resilience (ICoE-CCOUC) under the Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) programme. Additionally, she serves as a Visiting Professor of Public Health Medicine at the Nuffield Department of Medicine, University of Oxford; a Fellow at the Harvard FXB Centre; an Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of The University of Hong Kong; Co-Chair of the WHO Thematic Platform for Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Management Research Network; and a member of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Asia Science, Technology, and Academia Advisory Group (ASTAAG).

Her accolades include the 2004 Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award, the 2005 World Medical Association Award for the Care of the Underprivileged, the 2005 Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World Award, the 2007 Nobuo Maeda International Research Award from the American Public Health Association, the 2007 Hong Kong Humanitarian Award, the 2015 Outstanding Leader Award, and the 2016 National Geographic Chinese Explorer Award. In 2019, she was nominated for the biennial United Nations Sasakawa Award for Disaster Risk Reduction. In the field of education, she received the 2017 University Grants Committee (UGC) Teaching Award and was awarded the Second Prize in the 2018 Higher Education National Teaching Achievement Award by the Chinese Ministry of Education.

Ms. Caroline DUBOIS joined GX Foundation in 2019, overseeing the implementation and monitoring of health service programmes. A seasoned public health professional with extensive international and institutional experience, she brings particular expertise in immunisation programmes and health systems strengthening across Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Fluent in Chinese, English, and French, Ms. DUBOIS previously worked at the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI) in Geneva, Switzerland, where she provided technical immunisation support across Francophone Africa. Ms. DUBOIS holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University College London and a Master’s in Global Health and Development in the UK. Currently, she is completing her Doctor of Public Health degree at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where she maintains an honorary academic affiliation with the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care.

Mr. KWONG Ka-lok, Benny joined GX Foundation in 2022, leading the strategic planning and execution of GX’s publicity initiatives across Mainland China, Hong Kong, and global operations. As Head of Communications, he spearheads partnerships with overseas government agencies, Chinese enterprises, overseas Chinese communities, and local Hong Kong partners to advance humanitarian relief and educational programmes through multifaceted collaborations. A communications specialist, Mr. KWONG brings extensive experience in corporate communications, crisis management, and media relations for both public and private sector organisations. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political and Administrative Studies from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he developed his expertise in stakeholder engagement and public affairs.

An accomplished financial professional, Ms. LAI brings multifaceted experience from her tenure at a Big Four accounting firm, where she specialised in international auditing standards. Her NGO sector expertise extends beyond finance to volunteer management and brand development initiatives, having contributed to several charitable organisations. Ms. LAI holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics-Economics from Brown University and dual Master’s degrees in Business Administration and Accounting from Northeastern University in the USA.

An accomplished fundraising professional, Ms. LAM brings extensive experience in donor relations, campaign development, and marketing communications. Her expertise spans strategic fundraising planning and donor engagement strategies across multiple sectors. Ms. LAM holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the Hong Kong Baptist University and a Master’s degree in New Media from the City University of Hong Kong.

Ms. LAM Wing-yin joined GX Foundation in 2023, leading the strategic planning and implementation of GX’s critical initiatives including the “Cataract Blindness Elimination Programme” in Laos and Cambodia, “Project for Health Protection against Dengue Fever”, and other medical and humanitarian relief operations. With extensive experience working at international non-governmental organisations, Ms. LAM brings valuable expertise in managing overseas poverty alleviation programmes and conducting policy research for global development issues. She holds degrees from the Hong Kong Baptist University’s Department of Communication (English Journalism), the University of Birmingham’s Department of International Studies, and the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Sussex in the UK. In 2022, she obtained the Certified Environmental, Social and Governance Analyst (CESGA) qualification from the European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS).

Mrs. Cecilia Seen LOUIE joined GX Foundation in 2023, overseeing public health humanitarian relief and youth development programmes in Honduras and Timor-Leste. She manages the procurement, transportation, customs clearance, and distribution of medical supplies across all of GX’s project countries. Mrs. LOUIE maintains close collaboration with local embassies, Chinese enterprises, overseas Chinese communities, health authorities from both Mainland China and Hong Kong, host country health ministries, religious groups, and civil society organisations to ensure effective grassroots implementation of “people-to-people connectivity” initiatives. With extensive experience in supply chain management and international liaison coordination, Mrs. LOUIE holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Calgary, Canada, and a Bachelor’s degree in Radio Engineering from South China University of Technology.

Mr. YIP Ka-luen, Albert joined GX Foundation in 2025, overseeing legal affairs and compliance. Mr. YIP previously held commercial and general management positions in family businesses, primarily responsible for aviation and trading operations. In 2021, through Hainan Province’s global open recruitment programme, he was appointed as Director of the Sanya Tourism Development Bureau, where he dedicated his efforts to establishing Sanya as an international tourism destination. His key responsibilities included fostering international cooperation and exchanges, developing international air routes, and conducting global promotional campaigns for Sanya. During his tenure, Mr. Yip facilitated in-depth collaborations with international organisations such as the United Nations World Tourism Organisation and the Pacific Asia Travel Association. He launched the province’s first fifth-freedom passenger air route and created innovative overseas marketing IPs, gaining coverage from prominent media outlets including the BBC, The New York Times, and various domestic and international news organisations. Mr. YIP completed his degree programmes at King’s College London and BPP Law School in the UK, earning dual bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry and English Law.

Dr. CHEN Yang, Ryan joined GX Foundation in 2024, responsible for overseeing the localisation of projects in the Pacific region and providing professional advice on human settlements to promote the practical application of sustainable development concepts in humanitarian work. With extensive field experience, Dr. CHEN previously coordinated multiple public welfare projects in Northwest China, including the construction of ecological pedestrian bridges and the promotion of earth architecture techniques. He also brings over a decade of practical experience in Hong Kong’s architectural design industry. Dr. CHEN holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Xi’an Jiaotong University and earned his Ph.D. from the School of Architecture at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where his research focused on ecological sustainable design and rural community development.
