Disaster Resilience

When natural disasters strike, impoverished communities often face crises including direct destruction and disease threats. GX aims to build resilient communities through emergency response measures, combined with pre-implemented health preparedness and post-disaster rapid recovery. When conditions permit, a GX team will personally travel to affected countries for assessment and provide support. Beyond emergency relief, GX is also committed to supporting the long-term recovery and reconstruction of disaster-affected nations, addressing resource shortages by providing medical supplies and rebuilding infrastructure to mitigate the impact of disasters.

Disaster Preparedness Kit

Designed for regions where disasters disrupt basic services, GX’s Disaster Preparedness Kit equips families with essentials for survival and health protection. Each kit is organised into five critical categories:

  • Information items (emergency guides, communication tools)
  • Water and sanitation supplies (purification tablets, hygiene kits)
  • Medical provisions (first aid, disease prevention)
  • Non-food items (shelter materials, multipurpose tools)
  • Nutrition support (ready-to-use therapeutic foods)

Currently deployed in Vanuatu – the world’s most disaster-prone nation – these kits empower communities to endure emergencies while reducing secondary health risks like disease outbreaks. By preparing today, we’re safeguarding tomorrow.

Health Emergency & Disaster Risk Management

Natural disasters are frequent, and when needed and permitted, GX Foundation will personally assess and support affected countries. Beyond immediate relief efforts, we are committed to supporting long-term recovery and resilience through our emergency programmes. We focus on building partnerships with project countries to address necessary and unmet needs, which includes providing medical supplies, rebuilding infrastructure, and implementing preventive measures to mitigate the impact of future disasters.

During the COVID-19 epidemic, we donated 260 tonnes of emergency relief materials, including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, monitors, and other anti-epidemic supplies. By working closely with local governments and communities, we strive to enhance their capacity to respond effectively to emergencies and build more resilient healthcare systems.
