MOU Signed with Ministry of Health of Rwanda for Three-Year Vector-Borne Disease Control Programme
On 16 September, GX Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) online with the Ministry of Health of Rwanda, officially launching the three-year “National Malaria, Dengue Fever, and other Vector-Borne Disease Control in Rwanda” programme, with Rwanda becoming GX’s 13th project country. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Chairman LEUNG Chun-ying, and Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, GAO Wen-qi, and signed by CEO of GX Foundation, Professor CHAN Ying-yang, Emily, and Minister of Health of Rwanda, Sabine NSANZIMANA.
This year marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Rwanda, and the collaboration further strengthens bilateral cooperation in public health. Under the MOU, GX Foundation will donate 36,000 malaria and dengue rapid test kits, 18,000 bed nets, 6,500 mosquito lamps, more than 320,000 sticky fly traps, as well as a substantial quantity of public education promotional materials to support disease prevention and control efforts.
