Over 23,000 Surgeries Completed Globally!

GX has provided its 23,000th free cataract surgery globally in Mauritania! In early September this year, GX relocated its project site in Mauritania from the capital Nouakchott to Kiffa City in the desert region. The new site has seen significant demand, with daily patient numbers for eye examinations ranging from dozens to over a hundred.

 

As of 9 October, the 8th cohort has completed 468 surgeries, bringing the cumulative total of sight-restoring cataract surgeries performed in Mauritania to 2,370.

 

In addition to Mauritania, GX's "Cataract Blindness Elimination Programme" is also concurrently underway in Cambodia and Senegal.
