Mid-Autumn Abroad — Sharing the Same Moon from Afar

As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, we are reminded of home, family, and the warmth of reunion. Currently, the GX Foundation’s overseas projects in Cambodia, Senegal, and Mauritania are progressing smoothly. Medical teams from Guangxi (supporting Cambodia), Fujian (supporting Senegal), and Heilongjiang (supporting Mauritania) remain devoted to their missions, providing free cataract surgeries to restore sight and hope to local patients.

Last weekend in Cambodia, our colleagues gathered with the Guangxi medical team and the Sichuan Traditional Chinese Medicine team at our project site in Kampong Speu Province for an early Mid-Autumn celebration. Together they shared mooncakes, exchanged heartfelt greetings, and visited the Mobile Eye Treatment Centre (METC). Celebrating this festival of reunion and remembrance with fellow Chinese overseas brought a deep sense of warmth and belonging.

Additionally, Mr. CAO Yindong, a representative of Huafei Industrial, also visited the medical team yesterday. Mr. CAO had accompanied the Foundation throughout the transportation of the surgical truck in Senegal and has provided invaluable support to our work.

Wherever we may be, GX Foundation remains committed to advancing public health in Belt and Road countries, bridging distances through professional service and genuine care, and fostering people-to-people connectivity.
