GX Hosts Inaugural Diplomatic Lecture with Two Veteran Diplomats as Keynote Speakers
Following China’s publication of the 20,000-character white paper on global governance ten days ago, GX hosted its first diplomatic lecture on June 27. The event was attended by GX Chairman LEUNG Chun-ying, Youth Ambassadors, secondary school students, and over 50 youth representatives from various sectors.
We were deeply honoured to invite Ambassador ZHAN Yongxin, Chair of the China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation, and Ambassador HUANG Ping, Vice President of the China-United States People's Friendship Association, to deliver insightful keynote speeches. They shared their expertise on "Exploring the current Global Landscape and Trends in Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation" and "From People’s Connections to Policy Pathways: Accelerating the US-China Relationship through People-to-People Diplomacy" respectively.
During the session, Ambassador ZHAN highlighted current international dynamics and challenges, alongside Hong Kong's role and strategic position within APEC. Ambassador HUANG shared his experience as Consul General in the United States, illustrating how he promoted Chinese culture locally. GX hopes the younger generation will remain attentive to global affairs and employ both governmental and non-governmental channels to tell China’s stories through concrete actions, shaping a trustworthy, amiable, and respectable image of the Chinese people.
