Chairman LEUNG Chun-ying and CEO Prof. CHAN Ying-yang, Emily recently led a GX delegation to Fiji, where they were graciously received by President Ratu Naiqama LALABALAVU to discuss ongoing humanitarian aid.

Following a successful pilot project in Suva and Nadi since December 2025, Hon. Penioni RAVUNAWA, Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services, confirmed that positive outcomes have driven the scaling of the project to a national scope. On June 5, GX officially exchanged an MoU with the Ministry to launch the national programme. Under this agreement, GX will donate a substantial amount of low-cost, efficient tools nationwide, including 6,000 mosquito lamps, 15,000 rapid dengue test kits, 6,500 bed nets, 100,000 sticky fly traps, and a large quantity of educational materials.

During the visit, the team conducted a field visit to the pilot site at the Suva Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH). Medical Superintendent Dr Luke NASEDRA highlighted that the facility generally lacks basic protective equipment and noted an alarming trend: up to 40% of local fires are caused by improper use of mosquito coils. GX hopes that this donation will effectively control disease transmission while simultaneously reducing these severe local fire hazards.

To promote youth practice, GX also signed an MoU with Fiji National University on the same day. The two institutions will engage in deep cooperation across professional knowledge exchanges, workshops, academic seminars, and joint research publications. This partnership aims to bring new young talent into the local public health, environmental health, and disaster preparedness sectors, ultimately enhancing long-term community health resilience throughout Fiji. hazards.
