Chairman LEUNG Speaks at Peking University: Exploring "People-to-People Connectivity" and Humanitarian Medical Assistance
Chairman LEUNG Chun-ying delivered a speech at Peking University on 12 December, engaging with 100 students and faculty members in an in-depth discussion on the theme “People-to-People Connectivity: The Role of Social Organisations in Building a Global Community of Health for All.”
In his address, Chairman LEUNG highlighted China's commitment to global health, noting that the country has dispatched over 30,000 medical professionals to 77 countries and regions since 1963. This significant contribution aligns with the vision of building a global health community for all. He added that Hong Kong's unique advantages under the “One Country, Two Systems” principle make GX a vital complement to the nation's official medical aid efforts. By combining international networks with professional expertise, GX not only provides healthcare to people but also enhances "people-to-people connectivity" through concrete international humanitarian health projects among the Belt and Road countries.
Chairman LEUNG encouraged young students to actively engage with global public health challenges and consider careers in this field, inspiring them to become bridge-builders who connect China with the rest of the world.
