GX Foundation Holds Seminar in Beijing to Discuss Dengue Prevention via Physical Measures with Global Experts
Yesterday, GX convened the "Symposium on Vector-Borne Diseases and Dengue Fever Control Strategies" in Beijing, releasing the "Consensus on Physical Control of Dengue Fever" ("The Consensus"). Key attendees included Chairman LEUNG Chun-ying; GX Board Member representatives; CEO Prof. CHAN Ying-yang, Emily; Mr. FENG Yong, Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation of the National Health Commission; Mr. LI Qun, Deputy Director-General of the Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC); experts from the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration and the China CDC; representatives of the World Health Organization and international organisations in China; academics from the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong; and Chinese enterprises.
The Consensus introduces the "Five Mosquito Prevention Treasures" – mosquito lamps, bed nets, sticky fly traps, rapid dengue test kits, and health education materials. This strategy has already shown remarkable results in several Belt and Road project countries and has been featured twice in The Lancet. The symposium featured three thematic sessions, covering global epidemic trends, effectiveness of prevention measures, international cooperation, and the promotion of the China Solution.
In May, GX will head to Geneva, Switzerland, to hold a side event at the 79th World Health Assembly, advocating for the inclusion of physical prevention measures into global health guidelines – contributing to a global community of health for all.
