From the Mauritania Capital to His Hometown: A 63-Year-Old Man’s Story of Restored Sight

Ahmed SOLMSIDI, aged 63, is from Kiffa, a southern city of Mauritania. He previously contacted our field staff to inquire about GX's "Cataract Blindness Elimination Programme" during its preparatory phase. After hearing of the Chinese medical team's expertise, he travelled to Nouakchott last December for his first operation.

 

Happy with the vision he regained, he was eager for the project's reopening. When he learned that the project would resume in Kiffa, he returned to complete his second surgery today. He expressed gratitude to the medical team for greatly improving his quality of life and plans to recommend the project to relatives in need.
