GX invited Dr Halina SUWALOWSKA, a researcher in Global Health Bioethics at the Ethox Centre, Wellcome Centre for Ethics and Humanities at the University of Oxford, to deliver a keynote lecture at our headquarters last Thursday. The lecture focused on her insights into the interconnections and major discussions surrounding art, ethics, and death within the framework of global public health.

Based on her collaborative work with artist Anna SUWALOWSKA, founder of Beyond Physical Form, she examined interdisciplinary cooperation between the social sciences and the arts. The complementary integration of these fields has helped ethical issues, such as upholding the dignity of the deceased, in order to evolve from academic debates into practical public initiatives and to serve as a bridge to foster public understanding and engagement.

GX extends sincere gratitude to Dr. Halina SUWALOWSKA for her insightful presentation. Participants actively engaged during the Q&A session, and in-depth exchanges took place on topics including how art can be used to promote public health.

In the future, GX will continue facilitating cross sector dialogue across diverse disciplines and engaging the public in reflection on important issues related to global public health.
