Celebration of GX's 6th anniversary; the "Youth Ambassador Programme" has been launched
On November 19th, GX celebrated its 6th anniversary with a cocktail reception, officiated by Chairman LEUNG Chun-ying and Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong SAR Commissioner CUI Jian-chun. Over the past six years, through the joint efforts of board members, donors, partners, staff, and volunteers of all ages, GX has implemented numerous international projects with remarkable results.
To date, GX has facilitated over 16,600 free cataract surgeries in Laos, Cambodia, Djibouti, Mauritania, and Senegal, successfully eliminating the backlog of cases in Cambodia’s Prey Veng province. GX's "Project for Health Protection against Dengue Fever" achieved notable success in Timor-Leste and Honduras and has soon expanded to the China-Laos Railway and Cambodia's Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway. This July, GX also initiated its first "Direct Potable Water Project" in Timor-Leste.
On the day of the event, GX was honoured to have students from various secondary and tertiary institutions join as our inaugural "Youth Ambassadors". These ambassadors will engage in a series of humanitarian assistance training programmes and activities. Furthermore, GX plans to collaborate with schools to establish a "GX Club" to promote the spirit of sharing and cooperation.
Earlier in the day, GX held its 16th board meeting to further discuss the development of future projects.
