The Foundation promotes education in international humanitarian assistance to local campuses and communities
The Foundation has always attached great importance to the development and education of young generation. Therefore, a wide variety of educational activities have been held since its establishment: such as the "Belt and Road Medical Humanitarian Assistance Education Talk" and the "Cross-strait youth internship programme", which provide a platform for students to participate in international humanitarian assistance, to enhance and cultivate their interest in joining this field.
In the past academic year, the Foundation has held the “Belt and Road Medical and Humanitarian Aid Education Talk” in HKU Faculty of Medicine, Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children, Rotary Club, the King's College, numerous secondary schools and universities, as well as different organizations.
Participants will be arranged to connect online with our medical team from the project sites. Through these sharing sessions, they can discover the work environment, which deepened their understanding of the challenges faced when implementing humanitarian aid projects overseas.
As of July 2024, the Foundation has completed 23 "Belt and Road Medical and Humanitarian Aid Education Talk" with a total of 21 online exchanges with the Chinese medical teams and our local colleagues at overseas project sites. The activities attracted more than 5,000 participants and more than 300 new volunteers.
