GX to establish global headquarters in century-old Central and Western District historic building; plans to deepen international cooperation and exchange
GX will establish its new global headquarters at No. 4 Hospital Road, a century-old historic building in Hong Kong's Central and Western District. GX expresses gratitude to the HKSAR Government for allocating No. 4 Hospital Road for office use through private treaty. Built in 1921, the building has undergone multiple transformations over the past century, having served as dormitories for sanitation workers, government offices, among other uses, before being designated as a Grade II historic building in 2010. While preserving its original architectural features, GX plans to endow the building with a new humanitarian mission, creating a base that combines office functions with community education. It will serve as a learning platform for the community and youth to engage with international medical humanitarian aid work, promoting deeper international cooperation and exchange.
Mr. LEUNG Chun-ying, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC and GX Chairman, stated: "No. 4 Hospital Road will become both a starting point for Chinese compassion and goodwill to reach developing countries, and an off-campus classroom for Hong Kong's youth to gain practical experience in humanitarian aid. GX will continue expanding its humanitarian assistance programmes and hopes all sectors of Hong Kong will join hands to help strengthen the nation's soft power."
