6000th case completed in Senegal, 85-year-old man regained vision

Since launching the project in the five countries, our field staff and medical teams have been working hard to help people regain vision. Today, we are glad to announce that the 6000th surgery is completed in Senegal. Biram Senghor, an 85-year-old man who barely see anything, was scheduled to undergo surgery last week. However, he was found to be uncooperative in the operating room and refused to proceed with surgery.

When he came down from our METC, he asked us to reconsider his case and promised he would be cooperative. After careful consideration with medical team, we arranged the surgery for him again today. Finally, he managed to regain vision and extricated himself from darkness to light.
