Continuous support from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region medical team

GX have deployed two Mobile Eye Treatment Centres (METCs) which are fully equipped to perform cataract surgery on a patient in 20 minutes, along with and a nine-people medical team from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China to provide free cataract surgery for the people of the Kingdom of Cambodia. In Cambodia, the expert medical team has previously completed a similar project for local people in Kampong Cham. The medical team also completed 402 operations in Vientiane, Laos from September to October 2022, with no serious complications.

Donated over 20 tons of medical equipment

In addition to cataract blindness elimination, GX also partnered with the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia in other areas to meet various health needs of the Cambodian people. In April 2021, cases of COVID-19 increased in the country. As a response, GX donated over 20 tons of medical equipment and supplies to the government in July 2021 at the urgent request of the Government of Cambodia. In May 2022, GX returned to Prey Veng Province to implement a vector-borne disease control programme and prepare for the Cataract Blindness Elimination Project. Eleven weeks ago, GX renewed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia to consolidate the foundation's work in the country for the next 3 years.
