The GX team and Guangxi medical experts visited 103 Military Hospital in Vientiane to discuss arrangements for the Cataract Blindness Elimination Project and visit the METC parking site at the hospital. The 103 Military Hospital was selected as a pilot site for this project based on accessibility for patients and the availability of technical support to accommodate the fully equipped METC unit.
Following a successful project in Vientiane, two GX METCs will travel to the Northern and Southern provinces of Lao PDR to work towards eliminating backlogged cases of cataract blindness in elderly populations.
