GX launched its vector-borne disease prevention and education programme at Champasak Hospital and Phonsikai Health Centre. The health centre is a small community-level health centre in Champasak, run by 2 staff, which serves 7 villages within a surrounding area of 5 kilometres. The health centre comprises of a treatment room and admission room. While it also had space for a laboratory, the room remains unequipped and unused at the time. The centre provides important basic maternal and child care services, and consultation for simple conditions such as sore throat, stomach-ache, headache, to all ages. We hope the donation of mosquito lamps and knowledge sharing will eliminate the numbers of vectors in clinics causing disease and discomfort to the patients and health workers.
