Mr. Leung Chun-ying, Chairman of GX Foundation, and the GX team met with CPPCC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Health Commission, and medical team. Mr. Leung is grateful for the contribution from CPPCC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in GX Foundation’s “Cataract Blindness Elimination Project”. He encouraged members of the team to continue with providing excellent foreign humanitarian services to those in needs as China is moving towards the centre of the world stage.
The third cohort of Guangxi medical team to Laos joined the meeting through a video conference and introduced their work virtually. Tiffany Sham and Tayyab Shahzada, two prospective doctors graduated from the CUHK Faculty of Medicine, and Kyle Hui, a fourth-year medical student at HKU, also joined the medical team to pursue humanitarian work in Laos.
Professor Emily Chan Ying-yang, CEO of GX Foundation, was delighted to witness the growth of Tiffany and Tayyab, both joined GX Foundation as student interns 4 years ago when GX was first established. She believed this unique experience of them participating in humanitarian work in Laos will inspire them throughout their future journey of practicing medicine. She hopes they could become good doctors, contributing to Hong Kong society and international humanitarian work.
