Hong Kong community outreach and epidemic prevention packs distributed in Tsui Ping (South) Estate, Kwun Tong

GX partnered with Tsui Ping (South) Estate, Kwun Tong and Collaborating Centre for Oxford University and CUHK for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response (CCOUC) to distribute epidemic prevention packs to elderly people living in Tsui Ping (South) Estate, Kwun Tong on 18th  August 2022. The packs are intended to support household safety during the ongoing pandemic in Hong Kong, particularly for elderly people. The packs include oximeters, COVID-19 rapid antigen tests, face shields, gloves, tissues, towels, walking stick, and a set of information set about infection prevention and house-based medical devices. Staff and volunteers from GX Foundation and CCOUC visited 53 households to demonstrate use of the packs and conduct general health assessment. and universities and high schools in Hong Kong and overseas participated in this activity. demonstrated the use of RAT and oximeters which will enable caregivers to provide home-based monitoring of elderly people and COVID-19 patients, to strengthen the independence and effectiveness of home-based care. The groups also conducted surveys regarding their health and living conditions under COVID-19.
