GX Foundation and the Red Cross Society of China partner in first-aid training programme for Chinese medical teams

GX Foundation launched its first-aid training programme for Chinese medical teams prior to their field deployment for the Cataract Blindness Elimination Project. Mr. Leung Chun-ying, Chairman of GX Foundation; Mr. Ren Hao, Director of the Liaison Department of the Red Cross Society of China; Mr. Liao Pinhu, Director of the Guangxi Health Commission; and Mr. Feng Guoping, Vice President of the Guangxi Red Cross Society of China participated in the opening session held on 24th June 2021 in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

“GX Foundation was established to manifest the ‘sharing’ spirit of the Belt and Road Initiative for International Cooperation and to further encourage people-to-people connectivity, contributing to the shared future of mankind. Chinese medical teams not only need to conduct cataract surgeries for patients, but they also need to ensure their own safety while abroad. As a result, GX Foundation has arranged a first-aid training programme for Chinese medical teams to strengthen their emergency life-saving skills,” said GX Chairman, Mr. Leung Chun-ying. He also expressed his gratitude to the Red Cross Society of China and the Guangxi branch for their generous support and facilitation.

The two-day training helped equip 30 medical personnel from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region with practical first-aid skills for their deployment to Lao PDR and Cambodia. Participants were awarded an internationally-recognised certificate upon completion of the course.
